Try looking at Tung Oil tree- I not sure but what I can see... So many roads to take, choices to make, and laughs to share! |

My eyes aren't cooperating this evening and even when I enlarge the photos I don't get a real clear view but for comparison: Catalpa (Catalpa speciosa) http://www.pnwplants.wsu.edu/P... ~ I'm an old gal who still loves playing in the dirt! ~ Playing in the dirt is my therapy ... and I'm in therapy a lot! |

The leaves are wrong for Tung Oil/Vernicia fordii; likewise for Catalpa - both have sort of heart-shaped leaved. Yours could be some type of nut tree. Edited to add: Is there any way you can add a larger photo of the second image? Thank you. Sunset Zone 28, AHS Heat Zone 9, USDA zone 8b~"Leaf of Faith" |

Could it be Xanthoceras sorbifolia? Picture of the fruit here: https://www.google.ca/search?q... |

Looks like a good possibility: https://permies.com/t/44979/tr... Sunset Zone 28, AHS Heat Zone 9, USDA zone 8b~"Leaf of Faith" |
Could you save the images in a file and then upload them here? They would be easier to see than a screen shot. My gardening Blog! Handmade quilts, face masks, new & vintage fabrics in my Etsy store. Summer Song Cottage Instagram Sewing posts |

greene said:Looks like a good possibility: I notice that greene's link says that the name should be X. sorbifolium rather than sorbifolia as we have in the database. The ICBN seems to support that so I've posted a query on the database forum. I was surprised that Xanthocerus sorbifolia/um is apparently hardy to zone 4 - I want one! |

According to Flora, this is a small tree/shrub, hardy in zones 6-9, but needs high temps to set nuts. |

Botanica says zones 6 to 10. Sunset doesn't list it at all. ![]() |
