I found a bunch of these mushrooms growing in my back yard in the open & unobstructed sun. They are up to 6" tall. What kind are they?

Very interesting, thank you! For some reason most of the info I found on a Google search about these was from across the oond....UK, etc. Appears they are edible. Not for me though! Thank You!
