Porkpal, when you're in an entry (on a page) that you want to display a link for - copy the address at the very top of your browser and then add what you see below (minus the asterisks I've added to the front in order for it to display for you), and paste it into your post.

I thought you were looking for shrub roses, not just any yellow. I have Rise n Shine.. it's a year old this year (put in the ground last late summer). It's only about 1x1, so I still classify it as a mini. For my yellows, I have Sunny Delite, Sunsprite, Cha-Ching!, Summer Sunshine, Shockwave (awesome yellow), Golden Masterpiece, Julia Child, Strike it Rich (more apricoty than true yellow), and some orange/yellow blends (Judy Garland, RedGold). I don't like the look of shrub roses to me, so that's why I couldn't be any help there. Every single rose I just mentioned is at least 1-2 years old (Summer Sunshine & Shockwave are both 2 years old.. put in '09) and all have survived a minimum of 1 winter here. Sunny Delite was a lot more generous with blooms that Sunsprite, Summer Sunshine is a very hardy rose, Golden Masterpiece is a blooming machine, Julia Child is nice, but not as smelly as I would like, Shockwave is BLINDING.

I don't pay any attention to zones when it comes to roses. Smiling I just bury them deeper & put more mulch around them if I feel they're more delicate. Here's some pix from the database of my Golden Masterpiece. Love this rose. Rose (Rosa 'Golden Masterpiece')

I have Sunsprite. In fact, I liked this rose's scent and form so much that I added some more! Your Golden Masterpiece is really nice! I like the unusual edging on the blooms.

I tried to get Shockwave in 2009. Before shipping the company e-mailed me and told me I'd have to pick an alternate. I haven't tried to get one again since.

Chelle - Shockwave is readily available through a couple of LGS here. If you want, in the spring, I can pick one up & ship it to you. I've done that for Zuzu and they made it OK. :)

Chelle - As soon as I know what is available where, I'll let you know. It won't be until mid April, beginning of May (unless I find one at a bigbox first). Tagawa Gardens doesn't start selling their hothouse roses until mid April ("Nights of Wine & Roses") and Paulinos has their run starting the first weekend of May. Nick's Gardens doesn't have a specific "rose" day. I will see if Paulinos has it first.. I prefer their roses over Tagawas as far as hardiness.

Thanks. That'll work.

In the meantime, let me know if you'd like me to add on something to my standing rose orders. I usually order from Northland Rosarium for spring shipping, and Hortico for winter shipping. I'll order from other suppliers too, but these are my regulars. I've not lost a single plant purchased from these two suppliers; no matter when they go into the ground. Smiling

I just saw that Northland has Shockwave. I've never ordered from them before. how big are their roses?

They're all own-root, so they don't seem very big when you get them; however, bigger isn't always better IMHO. Every single one of the dozen or so that I've received from them has prospered from the get-go. They are easily some of my very best plants! Plus, the staff is wonderful! Plants arrive very nicely packaged and simply glowing with health. Most come to me with buds already set - it's nice to have a peek at what you're getting before you plant them.

These are the blooms that came with my Cherry Parfait from Northland. Opened up before I even had it planted. Lovey dubby

If they have Shockwave in stock I can order one from there. They're on my list to call with an order anyway.

Offer still stands though....if you'd like me to add on, I can. Smiling
