Good day, I am attempting to have a tree identified (see attached photo of the leaf). The tree blooms in early spring (Mid Apr to end May depending on the weather). It blooms small white flowers (which seem to have a pink ting). Following the short blooming (1 week) the tree produces small red berries that turn deep purple. The birds love these berries, however they remain on the tree only a few weeks before falling to the ground.

Thank you.

Hi Homeaway2, Welcome!
You've given a good description of the flowers and bloom time; it reminds me of Carolina Cherry Laurel (Prunus caroliniana)

Can you give us an idea of what part of the country this tree is growing? That will help to narrow down a more exact ID and is it possible to upload a photo of the entire tree as well as a close up of the bark?
