Hi Everyone, I have missed being here. I am beginning the clean up process from Hurricane Matthew. I will have too many cuttings to try to replant. If anyone would like cuttings, as I begin to get them processed I will update this thread. Unfortunately, most will be noid's due to the mess and not knowing which plant they actually broke away from. My greenhouse is still laying on top of quite a few, but I am planning to start removing it today.
If you are interested, please contact me. I can't stand the thought of composting them, but I no longer have the greenhouse space to start them and it will be a little while before I can rebuild it.
Thanks a bunch,
Ibartoo. Smiling

@lbartoo so sorry to hear about your greenhouse and your epis. at least you survived and hopefully with no injuries except maybe a broken heart 💔.
are you on facebook? i belong to an epi group on it and i know there are people who would be happy to have NOIDs. granted, many will not but they are generally major collectors and sellers. i think there are newbies who would buy at reasonable prices.

i have too many cuttings and they have been really taken off this summer. busy trying to figure what to do when they need to come inside. 🤔

if you're not in an epi group on facebook i'd be happy to help. there are several groups but 1 is better and very active (and helpful) than others IMHO. i can't quote its name b/c am having a brain drain. 😜

please do let me know how i can help. also, have you posted this on 1 or more of the other forums here? i think many people might not be familiar with epis and thus don't come to this forum.

apologies if i'm telling you stuff that you already know.
but you still have my sympathies.

i can also talk to some people here in dallas. have met very few who know what epis are, even those who collect cacti and succulents.

you have just made up my mind for me to get up and out to a free happy hour tonight at 1 of my very favorite nurseries. might 'educate' a few folks. after all, it is a happy hour with alcohol. 😈 as i'm fond of saying, "ya never know".
also will be at their other location in a 'burb next week.

best wishes and good luck!

chatty cathy 😝

Thank you Chatty Cathy. Yes, I do belong to an epi group on facebook and I have posted there as well. I haven't been very active this summer because circumstances have prevented me from working with my plants much.
I had taken a lot of cuttings before the storm and those are labeled. The cutting results from the hurricane will be noids.
I am asking 2.00/ cutting plus priority postage. I normally wouldn't charge for them, but I need money to restore my greenhouse. We sustained a lot of damage and my greenhouse was totally destroyed. I will not be able to keep as many plants through the winter because of the space limitation.
I thank God that we are all safe and the damages can be repaired.
I will post pictures of the plants that have bloomed, but some plants had not bloomed yet even though they are labeled and purchased from reputable sellers. I still consider those to be noids until i see the flower and can identify them.

Thanks so much,
Ibartoo. Smiling

Hi, Everyone, These are cuttings that I had taken right before hurricane Matthew. I had planned to root them, but due to the loss of my greenhouse, I will not have the space to keep them over the winter. I am asking 2 dollars per cutting plus postage. I accept paypal or postal money orders only. I would normally just share the cuttings, but I need the money to help restore my greenhouse. I have other plants available as well. This offer is for :
Epiphyllum Strictum Hookeri ( 11 available cuttings)
Epiphyllum Oxypetalum ( 23 available cuttings)
Big Red Epiphyllum ( 5 available cuttings)
Fishbone (Cryptocereus Anthonyanus) ( 5 Available cuttings) .
I will not send a cutting that I would be disappointed to receive.
There will also be a lot of noid cuttings that are broken pieces from the hurricane damage. I am just beginning to get to the clean up process, so I do not have a list of those yet, but will post them as I get things done.
If you are interested, please contact me by pm as it is easier to keep track of and that way I don't miss anyone.
Thank you so much, Linda
