I have perennial salvias such as Blue Ensign which I love love love the color and upright form and I have autumn sage and Firecracker and Wendy's wish. Oh almost forgot the black /blue one.. I look out and just sigh in the mornings at how happy the salvias are in the cooler temps in late October here in South Alabama.. They are blooming their heads off and loving the days that will be in the 80's this week and 50 to 60 at night... The summer heat is tough on them and all perennials even though Sheris healing flower bed is morning sun and mid day but total afternoon shade.. and sheltered totally by woods around the beds and our home..no direct wind on them. Hummingbirds are gone..but butterflys are here...and chipmunks, squirrels, fox, birds and deer. No problem with deer..we feed them shelled corn and treats and fresh water for the last 10 years. I have only sprayed the daylilys a couple times on the outer edge of their bed with a spray from Lowe's Repel and it works...to keep deer from eating them.. Have a good day ...and enjoy the fall..I know I will ..trees will turn here in first of November with leaves falling...we have huge hickory and post oak trees surrounding us...and woods and I love to sit out at night and hear the deer walking on the leaves especially on a full moon night. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

@Sheridragonfly Love that red flower in your pics above. Do you know the variety name? |
