@dave. - Are there 3 prizes of a drift rose plant? I am only counting 11 prizes offered to winners.

The raffle text says 1 drift rose winner, but it's actually 3. I didn't have the most updated text in the raffle this month.

Those roses are wonderful! I won some earlier in the year. I won more last month and they even game me the choice of Knock Out roses! They pack their plants so carefully and give you fertilizer for them. Perfect Plants is an A+ organization.

I am doing a pink, blue & white cottage bed so these will be perfect. I got rosemary on sale from Santa Rosa to plant with them to hopefully keep the deer out.

Edited to add:
Does anyone know if deer eat Drift Roses?

Lalambchop, I don't know but I did read that deer are repelled by sunflowers! I think it was in a Rodale book or something, but I do remember that it said that they hate them so much that even laying the cut stalks around a perimeter is effective. I'm doing this now and no problems with deer. I've been here only for 2.5 years and my neighbors say that the deer used to walk through our backyards all the time. I don't know if they've moved elsewhere or just hate my sunflower stalks! Anyway, I thought I'd mention it.

Just found this interesting (and impartial!) article. It doesn't mention sunflowers thought: http://pss.uvm.edu/ppp/article...

Does anyone have experience with phlox and deer? I've read conflicting views on whether they are deer resistant or not. Would love to have them.

My phlox never get touched....creeping or upright. On occasion I've had something snip off sunflower buds, but they've never been touched once they actually bloom. My hosta's sometimes fall victim to deer, but not as often as you would think with the number of deer in my area.

They eat my hosta to the stems. I've had to put them all on my raised deck.

I have had deer mow down my hosta that were HUGE down to nothing overnight!!! I'm definitely trying the sunflower trick. The only thing that works for me for deer is malgranite.

I wish I could entice my deer to eat my hosta. Whistling Maybe my deer haven't yet developed a taste for them. Blinking @Suga, perhaps you could send some of your deer down my way. I have huge plants and they really need to be reduced. I guess this will be the year I'll have to divide them. I will end up with dozens of divisions.
