Some years ago, we drove from Calgary to Vancouver in November. Calgary was already well covered in snow, which was really beautiful, but my most abiding memory of that trip is the amazing fall colouring of the trees and shrubs as we approached Vancouver.
Perhaps people would like to share their favourite photos of fall colours? Here are a couple from our English garden to start us off (not as impressive as the majestic US/Canadian vistas, but hey)

I do miss Fall in Maine. I lived there for 10 years and miss the expansive fall landscapes of New England. We do have lovely autumn colour in the UK but often don't get the nice sunshine and blue skies that makes the colours glow.

I'm hoping to go back to RHS Harlow Carr this week as the garden was looking fabulous last week. Fingers crossed for some sunshine!

Lovely photo, Sue. Around here (Oxfordshire) we don't get those vibrant reds and oranges, except for maples, which tend to be not very tall. Lots of yellows, though!
Look forward to maybe some wonderful autumn pics from Harlow Carr - I hope it's a great visit.

Ten years in Maine sounds interesting!

Last night, was our second night below freezing this fall, and the Autumn Blaze maple had begun to show significant color change yesterday. Even though it is clousy (my descriptor Rolling my eyes. ) today, I grabbed a couple of images from different sides, since it may rain later this week and leaves have already begun dropping. The tree is in its eighth leaf in my backyard.

Sorry that there wasn't any blue sky. Sad

Yesterday I drove to a supermarket to do some boring household shopping (although I do enjoy shopping at the local covered market in France) and was astounded and delighted to see that the car park had a lot of maple trees covered in glorious red autumn colour. Not as big as the glorious US/Canadian maples, but still!
So today I returned, with camera, and took a bunch of photos. You will see from the first one that the overall view is not brilliant (who wants to look at a load of parked cars?) so I messed around a bit with angles. The last photo is the one I liked best.

Today, the sun came out and the clouds exited. So, I grabbed a few more shots of Blaze before the leaves disappear:

Not much color on the lot right now. Sad One of my dogwoods has a very modest splash of color:

A neighbor cut down his birch, but it is fighting back and even showing a bit of fall color:
