This little pretty volunteer bloomed this morning. It seems familiar but the name escapes me. Help? Is it a periwinkle?

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.

I agree, Madagascar Periwinkle (Catharanthus roseus) commonly called Periwinkle and Madagascar Periwinkle. They are very common here in Florida and at our old house would pop up in the lawn, in cracks in the sidewalks etc. It's not everyone's favorite but very pretty when mass planted.
