I have no idea what I am doing.
I made my list.
Somewhere there is a link to a tutorial, but it cannot be found.
I will give a seed reward to anyone who can help me, talk me through it.
I will call you or you will call me.
Help.

Gerry

Hi, Gerry! I'm so pleased you found us, although I just noticed that you aren't signed up for the swap. Unfortunately, I don't think Dave has relaxed the requirement that everyone must sign up before trading begins, but you are welcome to try! Go here: http://garden.org/apps/swap/vi...

...and see if it will still let you join. I'll be really sad (although not surprised) if it doesn't because I would love for you to be a member in our swap! Hurray!

The video was here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

...it's still there for me when I go to it on YouTube, but if you have any difficulties, please let me know!

No reward is necessary, I am happy to help you figure this out in any way I can. Unfortunately, though, if it won't let you in, the best I can recommend is to beg Dave to let you in, because my hands are tied on that. (Several of us have suggested in the past that late-adds be allowed, but if you suggest it as well, it may tip the scales for him... Rolling my eyes. )

My name was added to a list. I thought I was signed up.
I will just wait for another time.

Thanks

I used to suggest the method I used to use, where you find or create a database entry, add that to Your PLANT List, and then form there, add it to Your SWAP List, and from there, add it to THIS Swap's Tradelist (The Green Check Mark).

But that's the HARD way!

If you can use this swap or any swap's " Manage your own swap list " button, that lets you type a name directly into a box, directly into Your SWAP List, and save many steps.

The above method is what Dave teaches in his YouTube video.

If you let us know where you hit roadblocks, we can give more suggestions.
The video is Step One, and joining a swap is Step Two.

If it is too late to join us, there are two other NGA swaps currently gathering members:
http://garden.org/apps/swap/

They all use the same swap tool, so anything you learn trying to join this swap will help you with the next swap.

Here's a sweet feature: once you have created "Your SWAP List", you can re-use that same list for as many future swaps as you want.

You just have to go to the page that has the green or gray check-marks, and check the checkmark to add THAT entry to THAT swap's Tradelist. (And you probably have to adjust the number offered to the second swap, if you gave some of them away during the first swap or used them up yourself.)

Gerry, we could still help you build your SWAP list, so you're ready for some future swap.

The 2nd Annual "Not from the Seed Rack Seed Swap" will start trading January 2.
http://garden.org/apps/swap/

Another swap is discussing when to start trading, a "Commercial Seeds Only" swap..

Once you have your swap list built up, joining a swap is just a few clicks plus 2-3 clicks per item that you want to copy from "Your SWAP List" to the whole group's "TRADElist".

Oh profesora I am so sorry you did not get into this swap. I just looked at your plant list, you have an amazing list and I bet this would have been so fun. However, as RickCorey says, there are some others coming up soon. If needed, I would be very happy to get on the phone with you and talk you through this. We could both be looking at our screens and I could show you what to click on. It seems hard, until you have done it.

Gerry, I'm sorry to hear that your interest deflated so quickly. I get the impression you are frustrated with not being able to join after all of the effort you put into creating your seed list, and I can definitely understand that. I would be frustrated, too. Trust me when I say I really wish I could still get you into the swap. It's so much fun, we'd love to have you, and I think you'd love all of the daylily seed options we have available.

I do hope you'll try out another swap so that your hard effort can have its payoff. If you have any doubts about how much fun the swap is, I highly encourage you to skim through our threads in the forum...I don't think there's a single soul participating in our swap that isn't having a wonderful time!

I would encourage you to try out one of the later swaps that are going on. As mentioned, there's one that is up in the air, but the other is already scheduled and recruiting members for January. If you don't wish to wait until January to participate in a swap, I would encourage you to slip Dave a Tree-mail this evening to see if he would be willing to grant you permission to join ours. ...Otherwise, see how you feel after the holidays. The seed bug just might bite again... Rolling my eyes.

Hi Gerry,

Sorry to hear you are discouraged. The first swap and setup can be confusing. It prevented me from participating last year, as I had alot going on and didnt think I had time to build my list and all...but once you go thru the steps and start your list, it's REALLY a piece of cake There are several of us willing to walk you through. If you want to join another swap soon, you can start (as Rick said) building your swap list now, so you're not working under pressure

Please let us know how we can assist!
