It is so unique, bright, deep red, and seems to last forever in a vase of flowers.

Actually, I am pretty sure that it is not a flower, but a leaf or foliage. My wife loves flowers, and I found this in a bouquet that I gave her for her birthday. She likes to have flowers in the house year-round, and if we could grow this plant, we would put it in every arrangement.

Welcome! To me it looks like an Eryngium that has been dyed red. Not necessarily this one but here's an example of an undyed one for comparison:
