Hi all! New to this forum. Seems like a really nice place to hang out!
I live in western Canada and used to buy a lot of plants at a flea market from a vendor there.
Most of her plants were labeled but this one wasn't. She may have told me what it was but either I forgot
or she didn't tell me. (the vendor is no longer there) Anyhow, I now have this plant that seems to grow very slowly but healthily and I don't know what it is nor how to care for it.
I'm hoping someone may tell me what it is so I can care for it as best I can.
My wife used to keep it at her office and was often asked what it was. She never had an answer nor did any of her clients.
The stem is very dark, woodsy and the leave are bright orange at the base and gradually go to green.

Thank you.

M.

Hi Max, Welcome!
Your plant looks like Sierra Leone Lily (Chlorophytum 'Fireflash')

Wow that was fast!
Looks like it!
I spent so much time on google and yet could not find it.
Thank you very much for your help.
I will certainly be back with more questions.

Thanks again!

I tip my hat to you. You are very welcome! Feel free to pop in any time with questions or to join in the chat!
Your plant was an easy identification for me; I recognized it because I used to see it in local garden centers and it was a popular house plant but I haven't seen it around in awhile.

If you ever need an ID on a plant we have some very knowledgeable folks who watch our Plant ID Forum: http://garden.org/forums/view/...
