Plant ID forum: Plant name

I have been given the plant in the attached photo whilst on holiday in Wales.
It is Autumn flowering in pink or red and has blade shaped leaves, but I cannot find it in any of my
reference books. If someone could tell me what it is I can better look after it. The soil where I live
is heavy clay so I have put it in a pot. Thankyou in advance for any help you can give. CleeMeg.

Welcome! It looks like what I know as Schizostylis coccinea but it seems it's had a change of name to Hesperantha coccinea. This image from Wikipedia is close to yours' colour as well as showing a side view of the flowers:
