ALNA PRIDE was hybridized by my late father, Reverend Dr. Joseph Barth. Dr. Barth was a pioneer in the development of tetraploid daylilies.
I helped my father in his daylily garden beginning in the late 1970's. This garden was located in the small Mid-Coast Maine Town of Alna. Dr. Barth
registered 36 daylilies with the American Hemerocallis Society, mostly tetraploids. In my opinion, ALNA PRIDE is one of his best tetraploids. I grow it today.

In 2010 the exclusive rights to Barth Dayllies was purchased by O'Donal's Nursery in Gorham, Maine. I continued Barth Daylilies after my father
passed in 1988 and am currently daylily hybridizing for O'Donal's.

To the best of my knowledge, Barth Daylilies is the oldest continuous daylily operation in the United States. This is amazing considering
that daylily hybridizing in the State of Maine has always been little recognized by the America Hemerocallis Society which recently changed its name
to the American Daylily Society.

I am attaching pictures of four more recent tetraploid Barth Daylilies.

Apparently the Barth Daylily DAMARISCOTTA RIVER PRINCE did not show up on my recent post. A picture is attached below.

Nick, those are excellent photos. None of those cultivars have photos in the database here on NGA. I hope you consider placing them the database.

I purchased Alna Pride in 2015 from Homestead Farms Nursery.
It has been an outstanding performer since the very beginning!
I have a nice large clump now and it an eye-catcher when several scapes are all blooming together.
It consistently starts blooming between July 2 - 7 every year in zone 6A (NW CT).
