I have all sorts of critters digging in my beds, but the Armadillos were the worst, they were so destructive. I do have a trap and found it necessary to use it with the Armadillos because they were such destructive diggers, not only did they did up plants, they buried others behind them. I found no bait recommended for them, but I became pretty good at finding their entrance into the garden, then by placing boards on each side of the trap to act as a guide chute they would eventually just be lead into the trap.
