We all know about the 5 originals from this series. Now I'm seeing Pearl White. Anyone care to add some info to this or some more background

Ramona has it for sale on her page. I ordered 2 bulbs of it to see.

OK I think Ramona is the person to ask about it. Is it tetraploid? She would probably know. I don't do Facebook so I can't see the description of it.

She doesn't state if is tetraploid. Her assumption I think is that it is being sold by the same company that released the original 5. And the "Pearl' in th name. But white doesn't make sense because the first 5 pearls were named after his grand daughters.

You could always email the Lily Company to inquire. He doesn't have a granddaughter named "White" and it is rather unimaginative. But who knows. Once it hits Holland anything can happen with a name.

Dave, what I understand is Greisbach named a few and the Dutch were able to by some more seedlings from him and they basically named them as they wished. Even substituting similar seedlings.

I have heard that there were around 15 seedlings sold to them including the 5 original named seedlings. I do find it interesting all the discussion and controversy over the Pearl series

Also of note, to further confusion, is there is a 'Pearl' in the RHS last supplement that was not bred by Bob Griesbach, so the name Pearl does not guarantee it is a Griesbach introduction either. I observed that a while back, while I was looking over the last supplement.
