I love that! A table top tree might be doable for a home...

That's beautiful! Thanks for posting it, Carol!
Ali, I agree. It wouldn't take too much to make a table top tree. It'd be best to get it going a month or two early. Pick very tiny succulents because they grow so quickly! I would just make a chicken wire form, and line it with moss and fill with cactus mix. I might have to give this a try next Christmas.

I also live an hour from Longwood, and it is well worth the trip. If you go, I would suggest getting there in the morning. It can get very crowded after 2 PM. You might consider a membership so you can see Longwood throughout the year whenever you can spare the time. It is an ever-changing and beautiful place. There is a New Members Orientation tomorrow, Saturday, December 10, at 10 AM.

Its an incredible place!
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.
