Paul has updated his website with his 2017 introductions:

Yesterday I was FLOATING IDEAS and got an INKLING that Paul might have updated his website. He had.

After seeing CORAL PERSUASION, and knowing that his photos don't put LIPSTICK ON A PIG, perusing the new intros was like eating JOY ON A STICK. I quickly became a VICTIM OF LOVE and came completely UNHINGED. Thinking "I GOTTA BE ME" I put on my KINKY BOOTS so I could DANCE WITHOUT PANTS all night like the ENERGIZER BUNNY.

Eventually I got FREE 'N CLEAR of the craziness and started BREATHIN' EASY again. But I definitely felt the need to run to the SMOKE SHOP afterwards...

Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Owen says for Lipstick on a Pig that it is 'pig-skinned'. It looks like it has a crepe surface, is that what pigskin means?
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

It's at least probably something similar. The surface of American style footballs are called pigskin and the surfaced is pebbled with small, uniform bumps. But as a caveat, real pigskin is thick and that may the reference to substance instead of texture. My own guess from the description would be texture rather than substance or a combination of both rather than just substance alone. I could be way off the mark.
