Wow, I have just seen our forecast for the next ten days. Friday and Saturday lows @ 20 F and Sunday through Tuesday lows @ 30 F. This is not Minnesota! Whistling

Come to think of it, I guess those Minnesotans would be in shorts and T-shirt with this sort of weather. My wife is already talking about replacing the light flannel sheets with heavy flannel ones. She is cold-natured, sleeping under a flannel sheet, flannel blanket, and (now) a heavy goose down comforter. I sleep under the sheet but often will not even have a sheet over me. We keep the house (low) temperature around 67 F during the winter months. It is not like we have a cold house. Sticking tongue out

We've started our weekend cold spell. Not a fan. But at least we aren't getting down as low as Dr. Dawg! Plants are safely tucked inside the greenhouse with the thermostat set at 58ยบ. Spoiled rotten plants!! Supposed to get near freezing by Friday. Winter appears to be here but I am still raking leaves. Whaaaaaaat?!

We're having cold, gloomy weather in NM too. Had 18 for a low one night, and 30 last night. Our highs have been around 40. Both nights we had a dusting of snow. More on the way. It is time to drag out all the warm clothes and bedding!

Oh! What's that?! ....oops...
It's been getting cold for about two weeks now here in my neck of the woods.
It's been in the low 40's this whole week as a high (which is pretty warm for this time of year to be honest)
I can't lie to you folks, i'm liking the cold. This past summer has been brutal on my lungs. Once it gets to a point we have frozen grass, the air is soooo clean! I love it. I'm looking forward to my snow. Still miss my flowers however.
Lord please let this seed not be a weed!

This is Minnesota speaking. We have enjoyed some warmer weather 40's but are now going to be near normal temps. You will find some people in shorts and t-shirts but not many. A pretty common sight is people, usually guys, wearing a hoodie and shorts?

Nothing below 26 in the 10-day for here. That was the lowest temp all winter last season. Hope that's also how it plays out this year. When it gets down to 50 or below here, you'll see winter hats, gloves, & arctic-gear type coats. I'm from OH so I have gear that I have only broken-out of storage once or twice in the decade I've lived here.

Need to tweak my placement of some plants. Not all of our rooms are heated.

I love the sweatshirt and shorts look! That signals to me fall weather which we don't get much of here in Houston area. That's when is not warm enough for a tank top or tee shirt, but earn enough for shorts. Hahaha BTW my DH wears shorts practically year around. And usually without a shirt!

: Hilarious! Ken if my house dropped to 67 we would turn on the heater. A huge part of a year spent at over 90-100 degrees makes this Texan a wimp in the cold. With cold being anything under 70 Rolling on the floor laughing We might be getting our first freeze Thursday morning. Sighing! sooooooo many plants to bring in. And this was going to be the year that I did not wait till the last second.

Our central heat is set at 67 F, but only drops to that at night, unless the daytime high is less than 60 F. The heat in the solarium is set at 65 F. If the temperature in the house gets below 70 F, we light the fire in the great room while we are watching TV (at night), but that's mainly for my wife's comfort. She doesn't like cold.

Our Nest system is set to 66 for heat and 75 for a/c. There isn't a day and night setting, that I can find anyway. (Nest is a little confusing to me.) I like it cool in the house while I am working or cooking indoors. At night, I don't mind it being cold since I am snuggled under the covers. But we have a lot of blanket throws scattered here and there for out temperature differences. Not a fan of cold weather and you all with your reports of snow makes me shiver with the desire to hibernate!

I'm wearing shorts and a short sleeved sweatshirt and decorating the house. The fire is lit, Cheesy Christmas movie is on the Hallmark Channel, a Candy Apple candle is glowing and soup is on the stove! I am going to make homemade cocoa in a moment. It's COLD outside! Almost 50ยบ.

That would be pretty much average temperatures for Minn. in Nov.
We have had warm falls, like now, temps. forty to fifty not rarely but what you got is our normal of course back in the early nineties we had double digit below zero and heavy snow for Halloween. Thumbs up
Now later this week we will go to normal temps for Dec. highs teens and possible lows sub-zero soon.
I hope we get some snow back on the ground so the frost does not go deep into the ground. THAT kills even plants that are used to winter.
We have deep underground water pipes in our housing area but a few winters back, when a lack of snow was driving the frost down, even here they said some houses should leave water dripping if they were afraid of frozen water pipes.
Down south where I always have cold, cold water, that winter the water out of the drinking faucet was cold enough it hurt if you drank too quickly.
The pipe to the upstairs toilet froze slightly as I did not turn the upstairs wall furnace on. I remember dad turning the upstairs furnace higher during the day higher than normal some hard winters.
Not a hard freeze but annoying.

This warm snow free weather really hurts the snowmobile people (sadly one of the few toys I ran out of money before I could buy, even though I did some freelance snowmobile race coverage in the nineties).

A couple of years back Northern Iowa had enough cold to put on snowmobile races early Dec.; I doubt that will happen this year.
I would like to get up to the Sault in Mich. for the big 500 mile snowmobile race before I die.

We are COLD this week-minus 12 ยบC ( approx 10 ยบ F ) now, and going to minus 20 ยบC
or on the minus side of the ยบ F !
It is nice to be retired and not have to go out in it.
Some kind soul shovelled my walk, so I do not need to deal with the snow today.
With the wind chill making these temperatures feel even colder----
