Dear Kniphofia;

This photo is BEAUTIFUL! I can't help looking for the Scarecrow, the Lion, and the Tin Man lying next to Dorothy in the field of poppies poisoned by the Wicked Witch of the West! But then, Glenda did rescue them with her magic wand which brought the snow, didn't she?

These types of fields are seen less and less over here as they are usually killed off with the farmers' weedkillers. They are wonderful to come across though.

Field poppies spring up all over when ground is disturbed, you often see them after building works or on roadsides.
