I know this species is notoriously difficult to take care of. Here are 3 possible problems and 1 definite, big one.

The big problem:

Potential problem: small, bubble-like thing at the tip

Gray (dis)coloration?

You can see that the tips are getting a little darker

Your first photo showing a rotting spot is the only problem I see. The more sun, the darker the body. The bubble thing looks like sap from a wound.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming...."WOW What a Ride!!" -Mark Frost

Your plant is doing way much better than mine. Mine rotted and fell over during the summer. I have a one inch section that rooted and still growing. I don't have much hope going. No new growth in 4 months or so. I didn't know they were difficult plants. I was good at other Asclepiads and have many.

Sorry to heart that, Stush. I'll try growing this species until I can reliably get them to grow and hopefully blossom. There's so much contradictory information out there about this plant's needs.
