Looking at the thread on the Holiday cacti I see some great looking plants.
This is one I adopted a few months back and have been doing the best i can but I see some brown line in the center of the lower half and I do not think it should look like that.
both photos are same plant just 2 different side of it

Are the brown parts firm?

That's good. It's probably just normal aging, hardening, lignification of the older sections. As long as the newer foliage continues to look good, everything stays firm feeling, that should be good.

Thanks that's good news , as I have said before I have adopted some plants but really have no idea what I am doing.
Just doing my best to keep them growing with the help from the good people on this forum Green Grin!

I wonder if, instead of a Christmas cactus, you don't have a Rhipsalis pachyptera? In such a case, I don't believe that you would get flowers for Christmas. As a matter of act, Rhipsalis pachyptera develops brown lines starting with the bottom leaves as it grows. I uploaded a picture from Dave's garden below.

You maybe correct I am not sure of the which version I have the leaves on mine do seem more rounded. I was not concerned about the flowers at this time.
As I have limited plant knowledge I am just trying to keep some plants I adopted alive.

IDK which jungle epiphyte it might be, but agree, it's something other than one of the 3 "holiday cacti." TC and CC don't have hairs or spikes, and EC has them, but not in that kind of pattern. When I made the pics bigger, I could see them well.
