We just lost our beloved cat Angel, she was so sweet and lovely, but she was old and her time had come, she is part of our garden now.
God Bless her, we will miss her very much, she leaves a big void in our daily lives. Sad Sad

So sorry for your loss, Josephine. I have a cousin who has lost a couple of pets and they are buried in a special spot in their yard.

I can certainly identify with today's quote. We lost our 90 foot oak tree in January. All the plants that I had grown under the tree were for shade. Some, like the elephant ears still did well this summer without being in the shade, but they just didn't have that rainforest look to them.

While losing the oak tree was a terrible loss, next summer I plan to clear out all the tradescantia (try to anyway, I know it is difficult to get rid of) that had also grown under the old oak tree. Then maybe find some sun loving plants.

Sometimes we fight a losing battle with our plants, but those losses teach us what not to do the next time and if given enough chances, we do triumph!

You are so right Vickie, the loss of trees is very sad, we have two maples that are in the process of dying right now, I know we will miss them greatly. Sad

I needed that quote today as critters (squirrels or magpies) have destroyed my tulip plantings just as they were sprouting.
The same also did a dance through the garlic!

But I need to not think about that now. Next year I will keep the bulb plantings wet.

And now focus on the summer garden !

Life is like that and we must not spend too much time on the things that go wrong. Instead focus on new things which might turn out better.

Yes it is. In the past six months we lost grandma, grandpa, and a friend. But we gained a Grandbaby!! I have comfort in the fact that they are together in heaven.

Gardens are the same way. You might make a mistake or a season ends but there is always the chance for a new beginning.
