I have some yellow Clivia seeds about ready. I know I can't send them in the mail in this weather, so what is the best way to keep them viable?

Plant them. I hear they don't keep well and should be planted fresh. Is this your first time getting seeds? Seeds take a good 8 months to ripe and must be cleaned out of the pods. I ordered seeds from China in January many years past, and they came ok, germination about 90%. When I tried to do it again, seeds just rotted and when I got them, they showed some signs of sprouting. I think they must have been thru X-Rays or some thing during shipping. Same with Aloe seeds from China. Makes me not want to do business with them all anymore.

No, not my first time with clivia seeds. I grew the mother plant and have grown some red flowered plants from seed. I wouldn't order seeds in the winter that can't be frozen, and clivia seeds don't go dormant so can't freeze. I wanted to share these, as I don't need any more plants. Maybe I can find someone local who wants them. I don't think the yellow are that easy to come by around here.
