Finally a pretty nice day! Started with a low of 3 and with a bright warm sun, no cold north wind Hurray! we made it to 41 this afternoon. Not quite sizzling but a definite improvement.

Oh so not fair raising electric rates. I didn't think ours were that bad compared to other states....then I found this report. Need to pay more attention when our public service board reviews a request for an increase in rates. (where is the cross your arms and tapping your foot emoji when you need it???)

Had a good chuckle over the sewing gene.... Hilarious! I didn't get one either. Mom was a seamstress and sewed all our clothes, too. I have always been into crafts of all types, sewing just never interested me... until now for piecing the quilt tops.

My mom was a professional seamstress and even made wedding dresses and her own coats. I didn't get the gene either. Glare Glare When my daughter was born I decided to save money and make her clothes. She would outgrow them before I got them finished Whistling Whistling So much for that Sighing!
Finally walked outside a little after work and the bunnies are eating my daylilies already Angry Angry Angry

Interesting chart, Char. Figures, Arizona is one of the higher costing states. Not the worst but high enough. Glare

Ginny you should have seen the skirt I made when I was forced to take sewing in school. We were also supposed to model it in a little fashion show after it was finished. Guess who was home sick from school that day ??? Whistling I am no seamstress and neither was Mom but her Mom was a good one. Crying

Char,
Interesting chart. I didn't think about how much price varies. We are on the budget plan and I don't even look at the bills as DH takes care of all that.

Ginny,
I had to sew in Home Ec. I knew than it wasn't for me...

Linda,
I did the skirt too and refused to to do the fashion show even tho it would take my grade down to a D. I didn't need a good grade. I can put a meal together in 15 minutes without any idea of what there is to eat and I am good at the rest of the Home Ec things we learned.

Interesting too how many of our Mom's were good seamstresses. My Mom had to drive herself to the Dr. one day when the needle went thru her finger....

I am not the least bit surprised that CA is in the top ten.

They are calling for a high of 79F. That means it will be 82F at my place. I had a hard time getting thermally comfortable in bed last night. It will be a long summer.

Yesterday started off overcast, clouds down on the mountains, we had a little snow shower, by afternoon it had mostly cleared and was sunny, breezy and cold. Today is bright sunshine, supposed to be breezy again, 21f right now, high of 40f predicted.

My grandmother made a lot of our clothes when I was a kid, my Mom could sew, knit, crochet, and do beautiful needle work. I got the sewing gene, I used to make a lot of my kids clothes when they were little. Later I made a lot of my own clothes, even made myself a summer suit one year, jacket and skirt.

Morning low of 12 and afternoon high of 48. Early clouds then lots of bright sunshine. The snow took a beating, melting and has settled a lot....I can see a few plant labels out back. Smiling We finally got the brush pile burned today. Amazing how many branches and sticks fell out of the trees since last winter. Once the snow is gone we will be picking up all the branches/sticks from this winter and starting the next pile.

Ginny, my Mom made my wedding gown... on the sewing machine I broke. I did a skirt in Home Ec too...scary thing is I think I still have it Blinking I love doing all sorts of needlework.. just not making clothes or using a sewing machine.

With those uncomfortable temps already Kelli it sure sounds like you are in for a hot summer. I don't know how you and Linda do it.

Hard to believe but tomorrow is the first day of Spring Hurray! I'll start a new thread in the morning.

80-freaking-4... And ten days of pretty darn good coming up according to the forecast. Gonna be really annoying if we get another frost here later in the season...
