Didn't know who else to ask. Frequently see the strands eminating from this plant. Organic ? Plant product ? Spider material ? Thanks

I would guess spider webs - especially since they seem to all go in the same direction, that of the prevailing wind?

There is no distinct web, simply filament streamers proceeding from essentially from each plant. Weird. Thanks.

If you read Charlotte's Web, you will remember that one of her children became an aerialist and floated away in a web filament. Could these be traces of more of these spiders?

Very possible. Just seems strange the this web material would spun without organized ( web ) intent. And yes, it streams with the wind. Perhaps this should be posted on the Insect ID Forum !

Found it. Spiders spin gossamer silk and are transported by "ballooning" on the wind.

Of interest, but Plant ID Forum probably not the place. Oh well.

Fascinating & cool pic, even if the plant(s) is incidental!
