Roman Cohort is a stalwart in my garden. Big beautiful blooms. Rebloomed this year. Scapes are thick and strong. Have to be, to hold up all the big blooms and buds. One of my personal favorite.
Very reliable. Bit taller here than registered. Usually some rebloom. Blooms quite upfacing (not a positive for me). Seven inches is not an exaggeration. Well budded. Occasionally a bit splotchy, but all in all a very good cultivar.
I have Roman Cohort planted under an apple tree so it hasn't done as well for me as it has for others. It is also quite crowded with several other cultivars planted far too close to it. That being said, it does bloom reliably for me but the scapes run on the short side for me. It is pod and pollen fertile which makes it a keeper for me.
I'm not completely sure how it happened, but they can't be merged for complicated reasons. It is fine though as we can just link this thread to the other one. I will move the link to the top of the page though.
We are linking the duplicate threads to each other. There are only a few that happened to. Not sure how it happened, but everyone's evaluations will be available to read. Just follow the links to both threads.
