This year, I resolve to take better care of all of my plants. I will learn more about each of them, so that I can monitor them more closely for pests, and will fertilize them on a regular basis, so that they can grow to their potential. That means for starters, I need to repot nearly all of them to a more gritty, faster draining soil. Oh well. Sighing! Come on spring. nodding

I resolved to not buy so many mail order plants over the winter and NOT to wintersow this year! I'm limiting myself to only 10 mail order plants. It will be so much less stressful to only have to weed and divide plants this year!

I'm in phase in which I want to make better use of the plants I have, rather than adding new different things, as fun as that can be. I've added a lot of different things over the last ten years thanks to garden buddies, but I have poor design sense and want to focus on making sense of what I have.
Plant it and they will come.

I have learned not to make resolutions, not b/c I break them but rather b/c I change them for better or worse.

The one resolution I make throughout the year that I mostly break is to be better about fertilizing. Good intentions and all.

I am resolving, however, to stop investing time and $$ in the semi-exotic plants I'm growing. Going to declutter those even if it means 'pitch'.

Feel free to check up on me in a couple of months.

I'm hoping to get my freesia to bloom. I have them indoors, in cool temperatures, under LED grow lights and they've been growing for several months. So far they are tall and leafy and healthy but...no blooms. I've never grown them to bloom because prior to this year I lived in Kentucky where it got too hot too soon, even indoors. Here's hoping that in PA I get at least one of them to bloom!

I'm also breeding zinnias indoors this year. I'm hoping to get 4 generations a year (2 indoors, 2 outdoors). It takes a lot of equipment (lights, thermometer, heating pad, fan, shelf, soils, fertilizers, etc) but it's really rewarding.
Keep going!

Actually although I don't make resoulutions, I did say I'd try and clean out closets/drawers INSIDE the house and stay outta the garden all the time. Green Grin!
