Just wanted to say Happy New Year to everyone! See you all tomorrow morning at Solaris! I think I saw a note from Carol Adelman saying they're opening tomorrow as well...

I am SO ready, Karen! The rest of this winter is going to be so long, can't wait for spring to see green again! Everything here is so dreary and brown, broken up with occasional spots of white where the snow still hasn't melted from a couple of weeks ago. We actually need more, have had only one decent storm so far this winter. Pretty soon I'll be breaking out the hoses to keep the beds somewhat less arid....

We have a nice blanket of snow to protect my plants as we head into the colder months Jan-Mar. But we are 'around the horn' headed on to spring. Am primed for 7am tomorrow morning when Solaris opens my time. Not sure what time Adelman's site is open.

Changing my focus in response to need from our botanical garden. They have zero budget for new plant materials so the work on the new peony garden is sort of my project. All pre-1940 plants with varied colors and textures is our goal. We have 37 already in the gardens that quality as pre-1940, some very old. Hate to move those established and probably won't have to unless we have some duplicates. We have around 25 in the research plot newly planted last year, plus what I will order for fall 2017. But those in 2017 won't help our summer months to come.

Also want to add to the species and have several picked out not just at Solaris. Going to have to jump fast obviously. Rolling on the floor laughing Happy New Year to you all. May the Peonies be with you!!

Happy New Year and happy blooming from me too!!!

The new season has already started over here. It is too early for peonies, by the Hellebore buds are ready. Some new growth on the chrysanthemums too.

Drooling Drooling Sighing! Sounds like heaven to me. I wish I could take a trip with Laura and Eric. They are so adventuresome and just plain fun. Even if I didn't want to do all the things they do (doubt I COULD Hilarious! phycially manage it) I could watch them and hear about their adventures. Maybe some day.

Glad you had a great trip Caroline. Glad you are 'home' to us also.!

I don't keep up to grandchildren anymore---waterslides and jumping from ropes into pools,--- are not within my capability.
