So does a strange Emu in the yard on New Year's Day mean good luck for the new year?? Crossing Fingers! Rolling on the floor laughing I was sitting at the table reading the paper this morning and glanced out the window to see a large butt covered in feathers go by...head had already passed. Went out to be greeted by an EMU Blinking Blinking It was happily strutting it's stuff in my front yard Hilarious! I have no idea where it came from Confused Called a neighbor who called a farmer friend of her's...he came and wrangled it into a cage and took it to his farm to live a happy life with his neighbors Emus. Made for a rather interesting morning....glad I didn't have a hangover Whistling So hopefully my visitor brought good luck for 2017 with it Crossing Fingers! Happy New Year all ya'll nodding

Wow Ginger. Never know what you might see while looking out your windows in FL. My neighbor said she saw a bear wandering through our yard a few months back. I certainly hope I don't see him(her) making a return visit.
Any day you wake up on the sunny side of the grass is a good day.

It was rather fun. Found out after the fact that aparently there are quite a few folks out this way that have Emus....I just wasn't expecting to see one in my yard Blinking
