We came from here
The thread "Anticipation in 2016" in Orchids forum

The buds have opened on the C. intermedia 'Aquinii Coerulea' x C. walkeriana 'Coerulea' but there is no lavender on the petals and no fragrance yet.

I'll say! Absolutely a fantastic display - you could enter a show all by yourself, Lindsey.

Speaking of shows, the Sarasota show is this coming weekend. I'm going to go on Sunday morning, I think. Let me know if anyone's coming down for that, and maybe we can go have coffee afterwards? Patty will be at the show with her beautiful beaded baskets and glass ball ornaments, too.

More "Anticipation" in the weather forecast, I'm afraid. More schlepping of orchids into the house for me. It's supposed to get cold starting Friday, rain Saturday and the forecast for Sunday is to not even reach a high of 60 - coldest day we've had so far, if that forecast comes true.

Thanks everyone, for the nice compliments.. all my neighbors, including handyman Steve ( who built my benches and pergola) know not to ring my doorbell as I'm rarely in the house.. and wouldn't hear it.. they know I'm out back enjoying my favorite room NOT in the house!
Elaine, I WAS planning on zipping down your way... but now that you've alerted me to the weather...

This was the last cold spell a few days ago.. I can't get at my tall rolling cart in the garage because of all the furniture still in storage during this home renovation project that won't end!

I imagine y'all down in Florida will get just a hint of what we anticipate Friday-Monday, with lows from 22 F to 28 F predicted those four mornings. We had thunderstorms for about 6 hrs. this morning and now they are back again and are predicted to remain for another 6 hrs. before moving out, once and for all.

Saturday morning early we'll be headed for Argentina. I can leave the OC windows closed and Lindsey can open them when she sees fit. We arrive in Buenos Aires at 9:30 in the evening and will be there for four days before boarding the ship. I wonder if you can be arrested for doing a bad tango?

Here is one I won't get to see open this year but hopefully, Lindsey will take pictures and post. It is Angraecum [Angcm.] Crestwood. This is an OrchidWiz file photo:

I love the Angraecum flowers. I need to find some this year and add them to my inventory.

Hope those flowers are bigger than the flowers on my Angraecum. They are just over 3/8 inch wide (but cute, when viewed through a hand lens). Smiling

This flower is going to be large and it is the first on this plant. I'll have to trust Lindsey and that is easy to do. I have the OC windows closed and three oscillating fans going all night long. It's not cold at all now but they say that will change. I also unplugged the big fountain so it won't run out of water and ruin the pump.
