What a great show you will have in January/February, Lindsey.

I agree with you, Bill. Years and decades begin to run together, but this December has sure been cold. We have already had five mornings in the 20's, as low as 21 F (two nights) and four more mornings 30-32 F. I can't ever remember so many freezing nights in December.

I picked up this NOID Catasetum at the big club sale. Will you look at the buds on this thing? Maybe we can name it after we see the flowers.

Yeah, we'll be able to put a name with it in all likelihood Jim.
These Catasetinae are really gaining in popularity. Just this latest issue of Orchids Magazine was full of images from plants awarded just last year.

And I thought they were supposed to be going dormant now Confused
I sent some photos to Fred Clark at SVO hoping to get a few ID'd ( so the university could charge more) his reply was that they were probably old crosses.

The truth is that a lot of these crosses are quite variable and as a new cross, you could easily see 5-8 common or similarly colored "themes" if you will. Mericlones of anything would be much simpler to identify!
Take Ctsm. Donna Wise. They come in yellow forms, bronze forms, greenish and burgundy forms. Some are intensely spotted and some less so.
