I've got some new 'anticipation' orchids going on too (finally---I thought someone had cast a sleeping spell over my yard!).

Oddly, my vanda's seem to like the cool weather we've been getting on & off...I haven't moved a single thing inside, and suddenly I have spikes!

My enc. alata is gearing up for spring, but this one takes a while...
Thumb of 2017-01-25/SarasotaPatty/e28b8e

I'm not sure what this is but it makes one or two little blooms at a time along the Gumby-like inflo! As the first ones die off, Gumby gets a little taller and it makes another flower or two, and keeps repeating that process for months it seems!

I got these two phaius (?) from Elaine....are these new leaves or blooms??

Wow, looking good, Patty. You've got a flower spike on the Phaius in the black pot, I think. The other one may just be a new pb starting.

The last show went very well! I'm even doing it again in March! Thanks for asking.

Did you notice the Yellow Song "Canary"? It should look familiar---I pointed it out (hanging in the ficus tree) because it was just starting to make the buds....see how they've grown since you were here? I'll have to take another pic tomorrow because some of the flowers have opened up already!

How are your den's doing? Are they naked yet?? You haven't been giving them anymore water have you? Mine are almost totally naked, just a few little leaves left. I'm supposed to be getting a white one next month...I can't wait! That will make 3 varieties!

I'm So glad you came to my yard, Ken, I really enjoyed getting to meet you live and in-person!

Those two plants have not had a single drop of water. They have lost some leaves but are hanging on to some. Now I have some Clowesia and Fredclarkeara that also lose their leaves and will go through a (waterless) dormancy. In fact, the Clowesia are in full bloom without a single leaf. No water for them. The Fdk. are leafed out and won't go dormant until fall. I sure wish I could grow them all outside, year 'round like you, Patty.

@drdawg here's the "canary" this morning...singing in the sun! Hilarious!

I checked the phals this morning too...I'm impressed, considering I was ready to throw them all on the trash heap about a year ago!

You are just loaded with neat stuff there, Lindsey.

This is Rlc. (Blc.) Momilani Rainbow 'Waldor'. If you look closely below and to the left of the flower/leaf, you'll see a sheath growing. The other plant is a sister-plant.
