|We are cracking our walnuts now and we are finding lots of them have black specks on the meats.
I can find NOTHING about this on the internet.
I don't know if this is mold or what.
I've seen walnut meats with fuzzy white mold but this is nothing like that.
I hope the picture shows well what we have. The pic with 2 halves shows the black speckles and the one with 1 nut halve is without speckles.
I hate to eat bad walnuts, but I don't know if these are bad, so I hate to waste nuts if the spots are harmless.
They taste just fine and we don't get sick.
