I have this spider plant that is having lots of babies. I have cut some of the babies off and potted them. My question is what do you do with those long strands the babies grow on? Leave them? Cut em off? Thanks for advice with this plant. I tip my hat to you.

If leaves or more babies are still attached to the remaining spike, then leave it as is. Otherwise, cut it off.

I just leave them alone, till it goes brown on its own. But if you are annoyed with it aesthetically, you can always cut it, plant just makes another one.

Thanks everyone, and no Tate the long strands don't bother me. I just wanted to make sure they aren't draining the mother plant. Guess it's all a learning process. I tip my hat to you.

Agoo--

Besides--if you cut off the strands off--you will have to wait a long time for it to grow new "strands"
as that is the only way you will ever get 'babies" growing for the future.
Patience!!!!! Gardening is ALL about patience!!!

It is ALL just part of what the plant is about. Learn to live with it!!! Gita
