I'm thinking it may be Cocculus laurifolius. It's a large shrub/small tree.. The parallel veining is fairly distinct. I think it may be more common in S. California than up in my area (Santa Cruz), but it was something my horticulture teacher thought was an under-used plant, and so we learned it Smiling

ohhh. thank you very much Sherry. this plant is all over the place at where i found them. however it is the first time i have seen it. proofed i am still very inexperience. it is great to learn about new plant.
