According to the article Edible of the Month: Elderberry by Charlie Nardozzi, one needs at least two different varieties of elderberry to fruit best. What varieties would go best with 'Ranch' American Elderberry? It is a determinate. I already have Ranch on order and it looks like I need to order another variety.

Ranch is self-fertile. But you could plant Nova, York or Johns if you have room.
