Can't really see it well enough in your picture of the tree silhouetted against the sky. Could you wait for a brighter day and get a better picture from a little further away? Also a picture of the trunk, so we can see what the bark looks like, and a picture of the berries still on the tree, if there are any.

Looks like a member of Rosaceae, possibly one of the Cotoneaster sp. found in England.

It does look like Cotoneaster.

The silhouette and branching structure look very Cotoneaster-like to me..
When counting, try not to mix chickens with blessings.
