Sasha, depending on where your plant is located, it's probably B. asteroides. I've been reading abouit B. decurrens and it appears that one is a rare and threatened species found only in a limited area:

MOBOT states that it is a threatened species only known to occur along the Illinois River in west central Illinois and along the Mississippi River in both Illinois and Missouri just north of St. Louis:
