Twice a year the Texas Discovery Gardens hosts a Butterfly Plant Sale. Their plant sales are eagerly anticipated by gardeners in the Dallas area. I think I've read that membership to the Gardens always increases prior to the plant sales since members get first dibs the night before the sales start. (No, I'm not a member. I wish.) The sales feature a cornucopia of plants. The list of plants on their website is awesome. I can, and have, spent hours trying to narrow down what I think I'll be hunting for. And a plus for me since I have a lot of large trees, shade tolerant plants are highlighted in yellow in order to spot them at a glance.

Note: Depending on when you visit the website, you may see the list from the October 2016 Sale. The Spring sale list will not be posted until a month beforehand. I've never noticed much difference between the two. They both run about 20 pages unless you can decrease the font size to itty bitty - but what's the fun in that?

The Spring sale now has the list of plants that they will have at their upcoming sale. And they have some new plants on the list, nicely highlighted so it's easy to spot them.

Even if you don't go to this sale it's nice to look at the list. All plants that are host and/or nectar plants are marked as well as what they attract.
