The seed for this was labeled as Delphinium tricorne, which can't be right. The leaves aren't shaped right and this was 3+' tall, not around 1' tall. Unfortunately, I did not think to get a picture of the flower insides. Is it maybe a Consolida species? I realize delphinium and larkspur seem to be used interchangeably in a confusing way. Years ago I grew "rocket larkspur" and it looked similar if I recall.

Looks like delphinium carolinianum.
Larkspur is an annual at my house...
Wild delphinium is a perenial, if I can keep the varmints from eating it....

Or could it be Delphinium grandiflorum?

To answer your question, Larkspur is an annual version of Delphnium. So technically, both Delphinium.

The leaves on yours do look more like D. grandiflorum.

The Catalogue of Life that is used on NGA still has Consolida separate from Delphinium though, Daisy.

Hmmm... Learn something new everyday.

But not because its in the list that NGA chooses to use. Don't get me wrong, the Catalog of Life may be great but I will have to decide that for myself.
