Hi all,

I was given some seeds for wildflowers (which was supposed to be a mix of flax, dill, coriander and cornflowers) and this is one of the few that has grown and bloomed. I'm not entirely sure what it is, since it doesn't quite match the photos of cornflowers I've found online.

Any thoughts on a possible id would be much appreciated. I am hoping to collect seed from it and would like to know what to label the packet with!

Thanks.

Yes, a Scabiosa species. Not sure what might be classified as "native" down there, but in this case, you are more likely to identify it by the leaves rather than the flower.

Thanks all. I know at least Scabiosa atropurpurea and Scabiosa columbaria are available, but it doesn't quite match either of those.
