A Windsong Nursery Daylilies in Pekin, IN (http://windsongnursery.com/ind...) is having a going out of business sale. There are lots of nice cultivars still available, including a full page of Spacecoast lilies. The selection is starting to get picked over, so if you want to check this out, do so soon. The pricing is spotty. Some cultivars are a good deal, others not so much. Before you make a purchase, I would suggest that you google the cultivar to see what the prices for it are on other sites. It took me a lot of clicking before I finally saw the price. I just hate web sites set up like this one. No price shown till you click to enlarge the photo, not searchable by price, etc. Just too much trouble to try and wade through that number of plants one at a time searching for a price. |

Larry, if you click on "home" it says they were shipping until October 1st 2016, so I am not sure they are still selling now. Several of the ones I clicked on say they are for single fans. At any rate, I recommend reading this thread first. The thread "Size of Daylily Fans" in Gardening Recommendations Vickie May all your weeds be wildflowers. ~Author Unknown |

I don't usually put myself out there like this, but.... I would NOT order from these people. I purchased several from them last year on the Lily Auction, and only part of my order was sent, and it was well into summer. Even with Mike Longo trying to help, I was never able to get my money back from Kimber or Warren, and they would not answer my messages through the Lily Auction. They also went in and marked my items as shipped and/or refunded, when clearly that did not happen. I am not sure if this was an ongoing problem or not, but I have a suspicion that I'm not the only one. They are currently banned from selling on the LA as far as I know. Buyer beware--not sure why they are going out of business, but this is not how to treat your customers in my opinion. I am telling my side of the story because I don't want my friends on here to think you're getting a good deal that may never arrive. ![]() |

Thanks Regina for sharing your experience. Would not want to go through the headaches and hassles that you did. I am sorry that this had happened to you. |

Thanks, Karen ![]() I'm happy to endorse the good ones, and somewhat reluctant to out the bad ones...but I just figured that I could save someone the hassle and lost money if I just shared what happened to me. Somehow (must have been the busy summer) I had missed the discussion that Vickie @blue23rose posted about above. I had already ordered by then though, and was waiting on my plants, just as described in the thread above. Sounds like they are well versed in swindling people ![]() ![]() |

I too ordered from the LA last year, but when my plant bloomed it was not what I had ordered. I wrote to them telling them and got no reply. |

Well, I don't feel so bad now. I do hate to give bad reviews, especially since I had not purchased from them. I just really disliked the way Warren portrayed himself as a customer when he was really the owner. Vickie May all your weeds be wildflowers. ~Author Unknown |

I ordered some daylilies from Windsong twice, once a year ago in the late summer/Fall and then again last Spring. I don't remember anything specifically being wrong with the order, fans were nice sized, but I do remember having problems when I tried to contact them. I had questions regarding the specific fertilizer samples they sent along. I finally reached the husband on a Saturday morning and he was good to explain the samples to me with instructions. I then tried again in last summer to email questions regarding my order and the color of the daylilies, no response, called and left messages, no response, and finally got ahold of the wife on a weekend. She said they were in the middle of a divorce and that they had to liquidate everything and she was starting over. Not exactly sure what she would be doing in the future. She also told me he gave me incorrect information on the fertilizers, which she felt was the reason behind the poor colors in the daylilies after they bloomed. I have looked a couple times since and know they were doing bulk sales, but really didn't trust ordering from them again. So far the ones I did order have done well (except for the enhanced color in their pictures but I know better now ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Be a person that makes others feel special. |

My plants were sent late in the season with the scapes cut off. Now I am hoping I got the correct plants and not just something stuffed in a box ![]() I may be in the market for Dragonfly Dawn, not to mention a couple of others ![]() |

I can't remember if I got my Dragonfly Dawn from them or from Gaskins, but I think it was from Windsong. Colors first year weren't even close to what I was hoping for. We'll see what happens this summer. Be a person that makes others feel special. |

@LarryR have you tried contacting them at all? Be a person that makes others feel special. |

As you can tell, I had no clue about what was going on. Thanks, all, for your input. I ordered from them once and had no problems. All of this mess is result of a couple that split up and their business went kaput along with their marriage. Probably neither still lives there. |

I got plants from them a couple of times on the Lily Auction. They were shipped on the dates I requested and were large single fans, just as advertised. I'm sorry to hear they ran into so much trouble before they closed. I'm very fond of the plants I received from them. |

@LarryR...I figured you had no idea or you would not have mentioned it; you are not being blamed for trying to show us a good deal ![]() @Legalily, hopefully yours just needed a year to settle in and will be spectacular this year! Really hate that this couple's marital problems left people paying for plants they never got...but sounds like at least half of the pair was already up to no good with fake postings even before their marriage was on the rocks. Best to stay away and hope they recover their sanity after losing their marriage and business. |
