I admit, I love the looks of the triple edged ones. I am only planning on adding a few this Spring. I would love to hear which one you would chose. I live in zone 6. I am so excited that we are almost to Feb! Thank you!

Also, if you grow Bullfrog Kisses how well did it do for you? Happy Gardening!

It is three colors on the edge of a daylily. I often can't find the third color, at least in the photos, I don't think I actually own any.

I did a search here in the database and pulled up 78 cultivars with a description under "color" as triple edge.

Larry, I just did the same thing. Some of those edges look a little hard to classify as three to me. What do you think?
I have some doubles that could have triple edges, but are classified as a double edge. I'm wondering if the area they are grown in affect the edges, similar to the patterned daylily's?

That's correct, Mayo. And actually, I didn't know anything about triple edges until I read the description of MARINE DEL REY on the Floyd Cove website when they sent it to me as a gift plant. I probably do have another DL or two with triple edges, but I always notice the triple edges on MARINA DEL REY.

MARINA DEL REY has a stunning bloom! Thanks for posting it. Does anyone in zone 6 grow it currently?
Also is there a proper description of the points in the eyezone? I really like that feature.

Here is the description of MARINA DEL REY from Floyd Cove:

Everyone seems drawn to Marina del Rey, and I suppose it’s the color. Not a true Blue but as close to sky lilac blue as you can get. Every bloom is a great one, and you get several features in one neat flower. The pattern of Xylophone Jazz on a tall scape with cool blue tones. Both the triple edge and the pattern are easily passed on to its kids. The whole flower face is flat and covered in diamond dusting. In the clumps seeing all those cool green throats is a very pleasing sight. There are no tan tones in Marina del Rey, and the color looks exactly like the photo every bloom. Easily fertile both ways, and a great parent for blues, triple edges, and patterned eyes. Limited.

And since it said it has the pattern of XYLOPHONE JAZZ but with cool blue tones, I just looked up XYLOPHONE JAZZ:

*XYLOPHONE JAZZ (Stamile, P., - Pierce, G.) TET 7222-A (Precious Candy x Bluegrass Music) 30” E Re Fr emo Ev 5 ¼” 5 way branching 30 buds. This has been one of the most admired flowers in the garden. Unique, and one of our finest patterns to date. 'XYLOPHONE JAZZ' has a light orchid base with a soft yet distinctive eye pattern and a matching triple edge of raspberry, lavender, and ruffled gold. Subhana, this is the flower you have been waiting for. 'XYLOPHONE JAZZ' has been an incredible parent for passing on this pattern and you will see her in many future introductions. Special! Fertile both ways.

So I just checked my pictures of XYLOPHONE JAZZ and discovered it also has a triple edge!

Also regarding the points in the eyezone, I think I read somewhere that someone referred to them as "twinkle eyes" -- but please don't hold me to that because I really don't know.

I just noticed Tambookie's picture over to the right in the Recently Added Pictures column and discovered that MOVING PICTURES also has a triple edge, although it's a little harder to see in my picture. Tambookie's picture really shows it much better.

These are all so pretty! I'm surprised and a bit disappointed there weren't more being posted . I don't grow very many with fancy edges but hope to remedy with my searching on the LA to pick out a few to try. Seems like most are southern bred evergreens which I am not always willing to put money on until they come down in price....lost to many southern bred daylilies in the past.
I did find one that has done well here since 2012....Razzle Dazzle Candy, registration says double edge but it looks triple to me.

Another one growing here is Painted On Jeans.

If I'm not mistaken in the description of Royal Cypher it's listed as a triple edge. I took these pictures last year in my garden

Yes, Suga -- you can really see it in that last picture.
