I was inspired by an article in the January/February 2017 issue of "The American Gardener" to visit the Howard Peter Rawlings Conservatory and Botanic Gardens in Baltimore, Maryland.
The Orchid Room dates back to 1888 and was renovated in 2016. According to the brochure, it features blooming Cattleyas from December to March, Phalaenopsis from January to May, Cymbidiums and Paphiopedilums from April to June, and Vandas and Dendrobiums from April to September.
Here are some of the orchids I saw today:

I haven't been to Rawlings in... hmm, over 5 years anyway. Orchid room is a definite reason to go! Thanks for posting about it.
Carol, I see you're in Lancaster Co... swing by the Mid-Atlantic forum sometime! We're a friendly group who get together in person with some regularity. Spring Plant swap is in southern NJ this year, and I organize a winter seed swap (late Jan to early Feb) in Frederick MD.
I'm learning to dance in the rain. Thank you, Sally & Chris & Sharon.

I enjoyed the tour. Thanks, Carol.
Nine requisites for contented living: Health enough to make work a pleasure. Wealth enough to support your needs. Strength enough to battle and overcome your difficulties. Grace enough to confess and forsake your sins. Patience enough to toil until some good is accomplished. Charity enough to see some good in your neighbor. Love enough to move you to be useful and helpful to others. Faith enough to make real the things of God. Hope enough to remove all anxious fears."
