I am very excited because tomorrow is my last day of work, I will then be retired! Work always deterred me from doing all I wanted to in my yard. We have many plans for this spring, me and my husband really enjoy making improvements by planting etc. I am interested to see if all we planted from my Michigan Bulb Company comes up, we have a few trees we want to cut down and many flowers to plant, and we are also replacing our deck. We have lived here for 3 years and when we bought the home it had a rotting deck because it is carpeted and hold moisture, UGLY! So, I am very excited to be retired.

Thanks for the offer of seeds, but I have tons I collected from my yard, Marigolds, Columbines, Four O Clocks my mom gave me, and I am wondering where to put them actually, but that was so nice of you and I appreciate that a lot!

Thank you for the well wishes! So many co-workers ask what will you do, won`t you get bored.......I have so much I want to do: flower gardening, reading, crafts, walking my dogs, watching series on tv, lunch and movies with my mom, picnics, time with the grandkids, working on my coin collections, walls to paint.....lots of stuff to do!

Congratulations on retiring, Freedombel! I retired 10 years and life has never been better (though I enjoyed my job). Every day is Saturday!

The first thing I did on retirement was sleep for a month, LOL! But then I bought a 2'x4' 5 shelf steel rack, added plywood on the shelves and 4 tube light fixtures under each shelf. Best gardening thing I ever did!

I can grow so much under the lights. Set all the lights on a timer set to 14 hours and WOW!

Sounds like you really got it going on with your shelves and tube lights, what fun! Good for you. I told my husband today that it has not fully sunk in that I no longer have to go to work, at first it will feel like I am just on vacation, then it will feel like everyday is my day off! We are kicking it off by going to Olive Garden tomorrow night to celebrate my retirement, his upcoming in April, and Valentine`s Day early to beat the restaurant rush!

My store surprised me with a retirement cake made from our own bakery in the store and a $50 Visa gift card, the cake was so cute, since I was the scan coordinator they put a scan gun like I used everyday on the cake.
