Of the 131 plant care guides (the original articles) we currently have, there are only ten that do not currently have a parent plant in our database. Those are:

Delphinium
Mesclun and Salad Greens
Ornamental Grasses
Dwarf Alberta Spruce
Ornamental Onions
Raspberry
Blueberry
Crab Apple
Gardenia
Oriental Poppy

I'd like to get parent plants for these, but in every case there are things blocking me. I'm going to try to tackle these tomorrow and will use this thread for asking for any assistance. I'd be grateful for any help.

Hi Dave. I was not sure what you meant by "parent plant" so I looked in the blackberry plant care guide for the "parent plant", I thought there might be a link to a wild precursor of the cultivated varieties, but I saw nothing like that. What is it you are trying to do?

In our database Delphinium are mostly perennial. The RHS is the ICRA for Delphinium, "perennials only". Their registration form could be used to create a custom database with Delphinium as the parent plant.

Oriental Poppy (Papaver orientale) could be a care guide within a Poppy database with Poppies (Papaver) as the parent plant.

I don't know of a reason why this shouldn't be made the parent plant. I hope others will comment.

I want to make a Jujube parent plant and am thinking this is the right plant to mark as parent.

Jujubes (Ziziphus jujuba)

I'm going to remove the hardiness, height and width from the parent plant. Anything else?
