If anyone has pics of green peonies and/or peonies of other colors but with some green color in them, please post them here. Would love to see them! The only green peony that i have is Green Lotus.

I have both Green Lotus and Green Halo, neither have ever bloomed for me. Moved them both 2 years ago so maybe someday--hopefully they're who they're supposed to be! Don't have Pink Jitterbug but here's Sweet Marjorie with just a hint of green....

Thanks Liz! Sweet Marjorie is lovely! I really like the green streak in the petals. The green is growing on me. I wasn't too crazy about it before but I am starting to appreciate it more.

Bought both green halo and green lotus from Hollingsworth for the fall. Excited but need to figure where I am going to put them.

Ancient chinese tree peony: Ou bi (欧碧).
These photos are from Chinese tree peony discussion board.

Another ancient Chinese tree peony, Dou lv (豆绿), some people said it is the same as Ou bi(欧碧), some people don't think so.

Littlebin, those are really special, unique, and awesome looking flowers. THanks for sharing them. I don't think i have ever seen anything like them. I wonder if any of these varieties are grown in the US?

Thanks, Karen, "Dou Lv" is avaiable from one or two sellers in US.
For example, http://4peonies.com/DouLu.html
"Ou bi" is very rare, not easy to find even in China.

I ordered Du Lou from Brothers. He had a different one also on his list but said Du Lou does better. I think it is probably the same one as above. The translation is a bit off no doubt.

I have Green Lotus but did poorly where placed two falls ago, and I moved it last fall to a better place so assume it won't do anything (if it doesn't out and out die) for several years.

Maybe Green Lotus just doesn't like zone 4b, Mary! Hope both of ours stop sulking and blooms soon!

Charmarron Gardens has 3 types of green tree peonies: Dou Lu, Lu Liu, and Lu Mu Ying Yu (although I am pretty sure they import from China). On my peony bucket list.

Most green tree peonies will turn white when fully open, Dou Lv or Dou Lu is said to keep green the longest.

Here is my 'Green Halo' Not the prettiest bloom. It is not vigorous for me either. I hope it does better this year.

LG, please share your experience about Dou Lv's performance and blooms in the years to come. THese green peonies are so unique and different that I don't know what to make of them.

Mary, Liz, and LG, maybe these peonies take time to get established. Hope they will come around this year for you guys. I bought mine from Swenson and planted the Green Lotus fall 2015. Have to see how well they do this spring. It is really hard to tell how well it grows the first spring after it is planted since the flowers came from buds developed from the vendors' growing conditions.

LG, did your bloom of Green Halo's brown edges come from heat or cold damage?

The picture on Adelman's (I think that is where I got it) does show that the bloom form is not wonderful. I believe it is just the unique green color that sells it. And mine was small to begin with. Got stepped on the summer of 2015 when it was hardly robust to begin with. Then in 2016 it grew a little better but still no more than a single stem about 10"tall. I put it in a spot with no competition (no danger of being stepped on) and in full sun. If it simply grows and maybe gets a bit bigger than last year I will be content.

Karen, that peony has brown edges from heat I imagine as it was taken 5/8/15.
Somewhere I have a better bloom photo from previous years but can't find it.

I bought this in Fall 2010. It really has no excuse as it is in perfect growing conditions. I am going to give it some Azomite as a top dressing this Spring, along with compost.

The green ones are not my favorite. Seems like they either have inconsistent bloom form or don't open well. I have Sweet Marjorie and the little bit of green in there does fine. I've seen Green Lotus in the field and it was a punk. It simply looked ill. But everyone has their own taste. It must sell or it wouldn't still be around. Smiling
