Living in Southwest Florida, the beginning of November hails the start of 'season' with many of the snowbirds arriving, Social events abound around town, as well as in our circle of friends. In addition, the Naples Botanical Garden where I work takes full advantage of the cooler days to start a number of great events to wow the returning crowds, so I have been pressed into extra work this past week. My pocketbook is grateful if my feet are not Whistling
Our son, for the first time, will not be home for Thanksgiving or Christmas, opting instead to visit us for a week in January, so we have decided to make the holidays be different. We have friends who will need our support due to the very difficult year they have had, and in addition we will probably look for a place to help out so someone else can have the holidays at home. Not sure yet which.
In addition to this, we have booked our first ever week-long cruise smack dab on the middle of the Holiday season!
So it would appear that traditions go largely out the window this year and maybe new ones will begin.
