I have a 13 yo row of privet shrubs that are suddenly loosing their leaves and dying. I have approx.
9 shrubs and 3 are brown. Is there anything I can do to save them??? They are about 7 feet tall, and
grow at 4200 elevation.

Welcome!

Assuming nothing has changed, and there are no signs of insect infestations, I would suspect some plant disease. There are quite a few that affect privet. Has your winter been especially wet?

Several possibilities come to mind. Voles, diseases, and soil pH.

You can see vole runways or mole tunnels on the surface (voles use mole tunnels for transport). You can have the soil pH tested. A local expert might be able to identify a disease from a cut sample.

Don't know your location (city/state/country??) but has your area suffered any extended drought conditions? Or unexpected freezes? That could be part of the problem.
